Jensen Intercepted!

I love this - This is the fundamentalist nutter who is currently on tour trying to unravel the Anglican Communion. He is the Anglican Archbishop of Sydney but he seems determined on destroying everything that is even remotely Anglican such as tolerance and respect for diversity. In this clip he is well and truly nobbled and exposed for the homophobe that he is!

I thought anglicanism was biblically based and not a denomination of clergy that tiptoe around trying not to offend anyone by preaching their liberal ideas!

Is the Bible necessarily conservative? Is it not liberal in the sense of liberating? Why is liberal a red button word? Just wondering

Reminded me of Dr. Paisley. Everytime he was interviewed by an RTE reporter, his response was "Let me smell your breath!" He was in search of the smell of alcohol and not decaying teeth. On a Sunday, he would always ask the RTE reporter if he'd "been to mass today".

Same technique, but Paisley was a lot better at it.

Jensen seems a right creeping Jesus.

That's one funny clip! I wonder how they will catch you out when you are Archbishop of Armagh Stephen?!

Jensen was in Ireland recently it would seem. His talks can be found here: http://vimeo.com/channels/efic

I was disappointed to see you have referred to Peter Jensen as a 'nutter' while in the same breath talking about tolerance and respect. I recently attended a meeting where Peter was the speaker and I was struck by his humility, godliness and biblical clarity. His emphasis was on human sexual immorality not homosexuality and the need for us all to repent of this sin. The Youtube clip is laughable, Peter can see there is a hidden agenda here and I don't blame him for not engaging with the interviewer. In these cases people don't want to listen to a reasoned argument, they take scripture out of context and use it for their own ends, i.e. to mock the people of God and therefore Christ himself.

I would be interested to know how you reconcile your apparent faith in astrology with the sovereignty of God. Surely as a Christian you believe it is the Creator of the stars who has a plan for your life or has the Bible got that wrong too?

Another concerned Anglican - Why the anonymous comment? I don't bite - well not online! I am a bit perplexed re the ref to astrology - I certainly don't have faith in astrology or intend to infer same - what that I have said suggests same? Whatever about our other points of dispute this one has me flummoxed? Can you be more specific as I am intrigued?

Well you certainly have inferred same by listing yourself as a Gemini and also the zodiac year.

Re anonymity, no big issue, it's Pam but let's not get sidetracked by minor details like names.

Pam (In Glasgow?) Aah - Not intentional! - It was a default tick on my profile settings page which I simply neglected to untick - I have no interest in Astrology.
