I don't understand why you think that's close to the bone. Wasn't there a recent bishop of Durham or someplace like that who was an atheist, or maybe an agnostic?

Jenkins I think is the one you mean - Not really - he just wasn't a literalist fundamentalist which dissappointed a particular and vocal body within the Church - Mind you the former Primus of the Episcopal Church of Scotland, Holloway is certainly now an agnostic but a very stimulating thinker nontheless.

I thought it was a C of E bishop, but of course I could easily have been wrong. I'm rarely sober.

I don't recall Holloway. The only Primus I can remember is a stove.
